Biostatistics Boot Camp Serves as Introductory or Refresher Course


The 3rd Annual Biostatistics Boot Camp will be held at the Emory Clinical Cardiology Research Institute beginning in August. This boot camp is designed for cardiology research fellows as an introduction to basic statistical analysis as well as a refresher for early career investigators. Each hourly session will focus on a statistical or modeling topic and include a lecture plus discussion/Q & A.  

Course Highlights:

  • 7 to 8 sessions, on alternate Fridays, from 10:30-11:30 am
  • Application of statistical methods in cardiology research and examples
  • Study designs, descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, sample size calculation, correlation, regression, and survival analysis
  • Additional topics may include missing data, longitudinal data, nonparametric methods, and EHR data

The boot camp is taught by Yi-An Ko, MS, PhD, an excellent instructor and expert in the statistical design and analysis of clinical studies.
